An accomplished drummer for more than fifteen years, Leo brings a vibrant, energetic and solid musicianship to his performance. With a background in jazz, rock, world and latin rhythms, Leo is an eclectic and multi-talented percussionist. His relationship to the drums began as a retreat from the difficulty of a troubled homelife and grew into a full-time passion. At Berklee College of Music in Boston, Leo studied with John Ramsay, Kenwood Dennard, and Casey Scheuerell and later with Boston jazz luminary Bob Gullotti. He has shared the stage with such greats as jazz legend Herb Pomeroy, Chubby Checker and Frankie Avalon, West African drummer and bandleader Mamadou Diop, and has been on three national tours of the Broadway shows Kiss Me Kate, Grease, and Footloose. He currently can be seen playing in several regional acts in the Boston area. |
